That along with the allergies… Such a mess.

But did you know that your pool suffers too? All that pollen on your pool  makes it an ugly mess.  It is best if you can circulate your water a few hours a day to get it moving and off the top.  There may also be some extra wall brushing you may need.

We can see the trees are blooming, birds are singing, the swimming pools need opening. Yes, I had to slip that in there.

So what do you need to know about openings that we do? If you have a cover, we remove it, rinse it off, fold it up and put it away if you have a place to store it. If you have a mesh safety cover, we remove the cover, remove the anchors, clean them and reinstall them. For all pools, cover or not, we reconnect your filter system, lubricate all the valves, start your system and balance your chemicals.

We highly recommend opening your pool early if you have a mesh safety cover. With a mesh cover, the algae is likely to grow faster, causing you to have a green swimming pool when you open it. Opening it early in the spring does help with algae growth because we can easily treat it.

Don’t be afraid to open the pool! There is a risk that with the rising temperatures your pool may begin to turn green.
